The name Modified Outdoors was created with our mission in mind. 

Through our guides and community outreach, we aim to modify the perception of bowfishing and other outdoor activities to everyone around us. Once thought to be a "redneck" way to harvest invasive species, we use this alternative method to show a professional and unforgettable adventure while respecting the fish we harvest and the water which we pull them from. We only use top of the line equipment, and set you up for success with an in-depth safety briefing before every departure. 

After the safety talk, we go over arguably the most difficult part of bowfishing, aiming! This is due to the way the light is distorted as it enters the water, commonly referred to as "refraction". Because of this, if you were to aim directly at the fish, you're more than likely to miss it. To compensate for this distortion, you need to aim lower than the fish. The deeper and further away the fish, 

the lower you have to aim. Odds are you are going to get the hang of it pretty quick, though!
